Course and Clubhouse Etiquette
(All Members)
Ball in the Rough
Should it be obvious that your ball has landed in a "heavy rough" area, players are asked to play a "provisional ball." This will save time and help to maintain "flow of play."
Clubhouse
The Clubhouse will close 30 minutes after the bar closes.
Course Maintenance
All divots must be replaced, pitch marks on greens repaired and bunkers raked smooth after playing.
Cutting Greens and Tees
Playing must be suspended when the greenkeeping staff are cutting the green or tee in play until the operation is complete. A serious view will be taken in the event of non-compliance.
Dress on the 18 Hole Course
Players should be suitably dressed on the course at all times, e.g. shirts should not be removed in hot weather. Jeans, T-shirts, tracksuits, shell-suits and trainers are not acceptable on the course. Only smart, tailored, shorts may be worn.
Gaming Machines
Any person under the age of 18 years is not allowed to play on gaming machines, even under the supervision of an adult Member.
Member's Guests
Members must inform any guests of the Club of the requirements regarding the correct dress permitted at the various times throughout the week and, in particular, at weekends.
Membership Tags
These must be displayed at all times on the course. It is each and every individual Club Member's duty to approach players not displaying such identity (or, in the case of a visitor, a ticket) to ascertain either proof of membership or payment of the appropriate Green Fee.
An appropriate coloured tag must be displayed on the trolley of those Members using the Trolley room.
New Members
It is the responsibility of New Members to introduce themselves to the main officers of the Club as soon as practicable, in particular to the Chairman, Secretary, Clubhouse Committee Chairman, Greens Committee Chairman and Captain.
Practice
Practice on the tee is not allowed in order to protect the tees. Practice on the course is forbidden at all times.
Priorities
The courtesy of the Course should always be extended to the Captain. His match should be allowed on the 1st tee without waiting and proceed unhindered.
Two-ball matches take precedence over four-ball and both have precedence over three-ball and single players.
Sharing Clubs
The sharing of clubs between players is not allowed and no two players shall share a golf bag.
Snooker Room
Snooker room users are required to make sure that they cover the tables and turn off the light when they finish playing.
Junior members under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult Member when playing snooker at the Club.
Trespassing
The Club will not be responsible for any Member trespassing outside the boundary of the course.
Trolleys
Only wide-wheeled trolleys are permitted. Committee approval must be sought to use the ride-on buggies.
Visiting Parties
Members are required to extend the usual courtesies to players who make up visiting parties and to individual visitors, both on the Course and in the Clubhouse.
